What do I love about elopements ?
When Holly and Graham contacted me last year to photograph their elopement in Mauritius, I asked her how they envision their elopement to be like. I loved her response:
”Well, we’re not too bothered about tradition, so we’ll probably enjoy the morning together and then go and get ready. I’m not planning on having a big white dress, probably something stylish but quite relaxed/informal – you won’t see any smart shiny shoes or big stiletto heels! Then a quiet, discreet ceremony and some photos before dinner I guess. Can you tell we’ve not spent too much time obsessing about detail?!”
Well this is exactly how the day went, they did everything they really wanted without having to do compromissions. They were able to get a civil wedding in Mauritius and then, red their vows to each other with a big blue sky and the sea as only witnesses. You don’t have to follow all the advice your surroundings give you about how your wedding should look like. It’s the celebration of YOUR love ! 😉
